I loved the whole vibe of this restaurant. They had these neon signs hanging from the ceiling which actually added to the lighting effect as well as looking great and making it feel very similar to walking down a populated Asian street. The restaurant was actually quite dark, but the lights were hung so low that each table was illuminated on its own, giving the feeling of being very separate from the other diners.
To the food! I love Asian food but I hate it when it's greasy, which I know is often the case especially when takeaway is involved. However, I was pleasantly surprised! To begin me and Alex shared the Asian Sharing Platter, which was huge! It said it served 2 but I'd only order if you're super hungry! It had rice paper rolls, BBQ chicken, pork dumplings, coconut prawns, satay chicken & a thai salad. It was £13.95, so around £7 each which for a starter isn't too shabby! You can add extra portions for just under £7 too, so if there is a group of you, you can add extra. I would say 3 portions would feed 4 people, the only problem then comes dividing some of the stuff, as you get one per person. But if you're happy to just cut stuff up and share then I would definitely recommend it.
The main portions were also ridiculously massive and after starters I could not finish it all! However it was super yummy! I had the Pad Thai which was sour-sweet rice noodles with choi sum, egg, beansprouts, roasted peanuts and lime. I had a mix of chicken and prawn which costs £11.50 (£9.50 for chicken + £2 for prawns). Check out the full menu.
As much as I think it sounds a little pricey for noodles, it was a big dish and if you have a good amount left over you could always ask them to put it in a to go container to take home. It also was really good quality, it wasn't greasy at all and was obviously cooked really well. For a meal out in London the prices are actually quite good and I would definitely go back. And I also saw on the way out that students get 25% off Sunday-Thursday! Take that into account and the prices become super good! Their website also says that you can get 25% off Sunday-Thursday from 5pm if you show them your cinema, theatre or concert ticket! So even if you're not a student you can still get a great deal.
Be sure to finish your meal with a Vietnamese coffee for £2.25, which if you've never had you're missing out! They put condensed milk at the bottom of the cup and then let the coffee drip through a coffee filter designed to sit on top of your glass. It's actually quite relaxing to watch and tastes so yummy!
They give you a cute little piece of rock with your bill too! I love anyone that gives me a sweet at the end of my dinner ha! It's a nice little 'gift' to say thank you for your custom and always goes down well. They did only give us one though and we were a party of 4!
Overall a super experience, customer service was really good too, they did drop one of the coffee's but obviously that was a mistake and they were really good about it, cleaned it up promptly and got a replacement straight away! A really good experience and I would definitely recommend it!
