Jewellery Picks

Hello everyone! :)

It's been a little while since my last post, but I've got lots of ideas and material that I need to publish, I just need to get around to writing the posts! This is one that I've been really excited to write!

I'm the sort of person that loves a competition. Especially if they're not too difficult to enter, a quick retweet or hashtag. I especially believe that competitions from smaller companies are really good to enter for both the company and you! Often they are not afraid to give away a really great prize in order to get a bit of publicity & by retweeting/sharing them you are helping them to get noticed, even if you don't win :)

I did exactly that when I retweeted a tweet from This Material Culture, a small company located in Liverpool (UK) that hand make quirky pieces of jewellery. The prize was a super cute cloud necklace & when they told me I'd won I was so happy! Looking through their website there's loads of items that I just love & it got me thinking about cute, quirky jewellery shops that I know of. So here's a few of my favourites!

For those of you that follow me on Twitter/Instagram (go to the right for the links! I love a chat :)) this was my happy picture that I posted to show off the little beauty!

The necklace was wrapped in a printed little bag (reminded me of what you used to buy pick and mix sweets in!) and was fastened with a cute little 3D sticker. I really like the length of the necklace too and looks good with a low top so it sits on your skin or on a high neck top (such as mine) where it sits nicely on top. They show it online on the 'back' side but I much prefer the dotty side :) And at £5 it's a great price too :) Here's a few other picks that I love from their website.

Tatty Devine
Since starting work, I now walk past this shop everyday on my commute and I have to make myself not go in and buy everything! (They're located near Covent Garden for any Londoners). I first wandered in here one day with Alex and immediately fell in love with everything. They specialise in lasercut acrylic and wood for their jewellery that gives a bold statement to each piece. Take a look at a few of my favourite picks below.

Make It Yourself
I also think its worth mentioning that lots of jewellery can be really easy to make yourself. Amazon stock loads of jewellery making kits and its easy to start. How about glueing some buttons onto some earring studs? 2 minute DIY! These websites are the sort of websites that you can also take some inspiration from and then try some things out for yourself!
